HISTORY

The Plateau de Valensole deserves its name of “blue country” with its vast expanses of flowers, typical of our landscapes.

Harvesting takes place in July, when two-thirds of the flowers are “seeded”.
The oldest still found dates back to 3500 BC and comes from Mesopotamia.

Ancient knowledge of distillation and the use of plants and essential oils is considerable, and our experience and training back up this empirical experience.

By adapting our machines to today's requirements, we aim to maintain our commitment to quality and to observing Nature's cycles.

The flowers are cut and then placed on the ground in thin layers to dry for 12 to 24 hours: this is the withering process, which prevents plant moisture from altering the quality of the essential oil.

This fundamental step is no longer practiced by industrial agriculture, which distills green plants chopped up by a forage harvester in caissons.

We use dry-steam distillation in pre-heated vats, loaded by hand to ensure the flowers are well arranged.

These “old-fashioned” techniques guarantee the highest quality essential oil.

Usage

Anti-stress and calming, a drop on the pillow to soothe and promote sleep. Healing and restorative, it can also be used to relieve insect bites and injuries.

Safety precautions

Not suitable for children under 6, pregnant or breast-feeding women.

Do not use on people with allergies to essential oils.

To perform a test, place a drop on the crease of the elbow and wait 24 hours.

As a general rule, essential oils should be diluted in a vegetable oil or cream
of your choice. Do not apply to mucous membranes, eyes or ears.
